The GE Fanuc IC670ALG320 analog output module is a 4-channel output module for the Genius Field Control system.
The complete Genius Field Control system or station is made up of a processing unit or Bus Interface Unit (BIU) and
a group of 8 I/O modules installed on the I/O slot of a terminal block. Both the BIU and the I/O module are enclosed
in a sturdy and compact aluminium housing which provides environmental protection. The IC670ALG320 analog output
module comes with a group of 4 current/voltage analog outputs where each output point provides an output signal range
of 4 to 20 milliamps and 0 to 10 Volts DC, which can be extended to 0 to 20 milliamps and 0 to 12.5 Volts DC by using
an optional jumper installed on the terminal block. The IC670ALG320 analog output module has a default scaling range
of 0 to 20,000, but the scaling range can be reconfigured by using a handheld monitor to match the desired current output
value or to convert it into engineering units.
The IC670ALG320 analog output module requires a 24 Volts DC backplane power supply which provides loop power to
each output channel, and all the outputs are isolated from the ground and logic. During operation, the IC670ALG320
analog output module’s 4 digital-to-analog converters supply simultaneous voltage and current outputs with ranges of
0 to 20 milliamps or 4 to 20 milliamps and 0 to 10 Volts DC or 0 to 12.5 Volts DC from each output circuit. The IC670ALG320
analog output module can be configured by using a compatible handheld monitor, and it is installed on the terminal block.
The terminal block provides fast and cost-effective field-side wiring. The IC670ALG320 analog output module comes
with an LED light indicator, which shows both operational and diagnostics status updates.
