AskRetaining an existing 3300 installation changes how this monitor can be used. In a documented rack-upgrade arrangement, 3500/42E works with the installed 3300 chassis, I/O and relays, but only two measurement channels are available.
A complete 3500 ENCORE rack makes all four channels available. Channels are configured in pairs, allowing the project to assign supported vibration or position functions according to the connected proximity, velocity or acceleration transducers.
Before ordering or commissioning, identify the actual rack arrangement, I/O module, transducer type, paired channel functions and alarm logic. Similar front-panel appearance does not prove that the existing 3300 wiring can be retained.

Rack-upgrade use depends on the installed 3300 chassis, I/O and relay arrangement; a full ENCORE rack uses its own supported I/O modules.
Record channel-pair functions, transducer types, full-scale ranges and alarm setpoints before replacing or reconfiguring the monitor.
Do not transfer a four-channel configuration into a two-channel rack-upgrade arrangement. Stop startup if the installed I/O, relay path or transducer type cannot be reconciled with the approved configuration.
Within a supported 3500 ENCORE architecture, the monitor can be configured for tasks such as radial vibration, thrust position, differential expansion, shaft absolute vibration, eccentricity, acceleration or velocity measurement.
